Programme 2019 - 2020
Here is the programme of what to expect at Bishops Wood during the year:
Gardening Work Party Sunday 29th September 11.30 a.m. – 3.0 pm. Help us restore the garden created by and for students with learning and health difficulties. Weeding may not be your favourite activity but this will be a sociable event and many hands make light work. Bring old clothes, gloves and a packed lunch.
Family Days at Bishops Wood Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st October. 9.30 – 3.30
We will be holding sessions on minibeast ID, Autumnal crafts and knot tying, as well as having shelter building areas and nature trails for you to access as you wish. You don’t need to book, just come along when you’re ready on the day. There will be drinks available and you are welcome to bring a picnic for lunch, so you can stay all day. Last entry 2 pm (Volunteers to assist with showing groups around welcome). £4 per person £15 family ticket (under 3s free). For details please contact Bishops Wood via email@example.com
“Twice Upon a Time” Wednesday 27th November. 7.30 pm. Experienced story-teller, Daniel Morden and world-class musician, Oliver Wilson-Dickson are well-known for bringing high quality performances to rural audiences. Expect singalongs, shocking twists and sudden jumps in this family-friendly show, which combines music, sound and spoken word to convey timeless, traditional stories. Suitable for 8 years + and adult audiences. Donations bar will open at 7.0 pm and during interval. Tickets £11 (Under 16s and members of FOBW £9 if ordered in advance). Phone 01299 403424 option 0
Santa Comes to Bishops Wood Sunday December 15th 1pm – 4.0pm A return of this ever popular event. Celebrate a “green” Christmas. Follow the Christmas wildlife trail to visit Santa in his magical grotto, hear Christmas stories, see the amazing nativity scene and try out Christmas crafts using natural and recycled materials.

Family Days in February half-term holiday 2020 Details to be confirmed but expect woodland activities, games and crafts.
Easter Family Days 6th – 17th April 2020. Details to be confirmed.
Bluebell Walk Sunday 10th May 2020 2pm-4.0pm Guided tours of the enchanted bluebell woods and other amazing parts of Bishops Wood. Listen to our storytellers tell stories of bluebells, witches and fairy folk in the secret glades and bowers

Forage Walk Date to be confirmed. 10.30 am-1.0 pm
Local Foraging expert, Owen Raybould will introduce us to the edible plants of Bishops Wood. Booking will be essential.
Bishops Wood Open Day June Date and details to be confirmed, but likely to include pig roast, craft stalls and Vikings! A chance to explore Bishops Wood and experience some of the activities on offer for school classes and sample what courses are available for adults.
Folksy Theatre: Children’s and Shakespeare productions. July – August 2020
